By Shane Lukas, Managing Director AVN
Back in 1998, Steve Pipe lit a beacon in the accounting world. He envisioned a world where accountants weren’t just crunching numbers but actively shaping their clients’ futures. It was ground breaking; and from that spark, AVN was born.
Over the years, our journey has been nothing short of a roller-coaster, with exhilarating highs and challenging lows. But always driven by purpose and passion. Now, with AVN supporting accountants for 25 years, we’re reflecting on what we’ve achieved and, to be honest, it’s been pretty emotional.
By my reckoning, we’ve helped around 5000 accountants to change the way they work for the better. In fact, for some of those accountants it’s not just the way they work that’s changed – AVN has changed their life.
I’ve heard stories of how they wanted to quit their practice, were constantly stressed, were missing out on family life and their children’s milestones. And then how, with our help, they now have the freedom, the lifestyle and the income they’ve always wanted. It’s truly heart-warming to know that we’ve played a part in that.
For the September issue of the AVN member magazine, The Navigator, we asked some of these accountants to tell us about their experience of AVN. And we also spoke to Steve Pipe about the early days and how AVN very nearly didn’t happen at all!
It’s a really inspiring read and I’m delighted to share it with you.
